Eurobike 2013, le vélo c'est ici

Eurobike 2013, the bike is here

Every year for 22 years, Friedrichshafen on the northern shore of Lake Constance has hosted one of the largest bicycle trade fairs: Eurobike 2013.

Two days to see everything were not too many.

Here the bike is king, it is really a vehicle in its own right, but efficiency does not mean austerity, and many exhibitors let loose, we have fun with the Snow bikes or fat bikes that look amazing with their huge 5-inch tires and 100mm wide rims.

We innovate by drawing inspiration from the past, by developing systems that are reminiscent of Terrot's Levocyclette, StringBike reinvents pedaling.

Zdenek Mesicek's current penny-farthings contrast with electric bikes.
At Eurobike, ebikes are everywhere, most equipped with the Bosh powertrain, 45km/h is announced.
Fixies can be counted on the fingers of one hand, riders have grown up and moved on to cargo bikes to carry their kids or to folding bikes, due to rising rents.

The Japanese Myata and these extraordinary bikes take us back to the era of beautiful French touring bikes, such as those of Gilles Berthoud present at the show.
Very few old bikes, a nice 1960 fleetwing on the KTM stand, a Panasonic from the 1990 Tour de France that you wouldn't notice in the street, and then the return of the Motobécane brand, entirely in the logo, it sounds better than MBK on a nice French frame.
To be seen at the Paris Motor Show, from September 13 to 16, 2013, we hope.
