Bicyclette R. Poelaert ou le René Herse camouflé

Bicycle R. Poelaert or the camouflaged René Herse

Who knows what the web doesn't know, nothing in fact, on the net, about this bike,

of my new touring bike, built by Mr Raymond Poelaert of Sartrouville, near Paris, in the early 1980s.

Reynold 501 tubes, Spidel derailleurs, TA triple chainrings, and Mafac brakes, with Shimano DEL 80 levers. Stem, René Herse brake regulators and other nice bits and pieces, like the lighting with wires, fully integrated into all possible tubes, and the brilliant Nivex-style rear chain rest.

This frame builder worked for René Herse, assembler, engraver of crank levers, Lily Herse gave him her bikes to adjust.
